  4. Recurring and lifetime payouts

Pay on first purchase, all purchases, a recurring window or lifetime, per campaign.

What Rewardful is and who it's great for

Rewardful's Why Rewardful article describes the product as affiliate marketing software for SaaS businesses that bill through Stripe or Paddle. Its billing integrations are central to how it tracks referrals and commissions, so payouts follow real payments.

Highlights from Rewardful's own pages:

  • Commissions: percentage or fixed, one-time or recurring, with the option to stop after a set number of payments or months, according to the features page. Commissions adjust automatically when referred customers upgrade, downgrade or cancel.
  • Tracking: clean ?via= referral links on your own domain, coupon code tracking and first- or last-touch attribution.
  • Plans: the pricing page lists unlimited affiliates and visitors, a 0% transaction fee, all integrations, REST API access, double-sided incentives and self-referral fraud detection on every plan.
  • Payouts: PayPal mass payouts and Wise bulk payouts on every plan, plus optional Managed Payouts with a 3% processing fee on payouts.

If you run a SaaS product on Stripe and want a referral program live quickly, Rewardful is a strong, focused choice.

Why teams look for Rewardful alternatives

Rewardful is candid about its own fit, which explains most switches:

  • Billing dependence. Its Why Rewardful article lists not using Stripe or Paddle, or needing ecommerce-specific workflows, as reasons it may not suit you. Its Paddle help article says only Paddle Classic is supported, not Paddle Billing, and that Stripe and Paddle Classic can't be used together.
  • Price follows affiliate revenue. As of October 2026, Starter costs $49/month ($490/year) for up to $7,500 of monthly affiliate-attributed revenue, Growth $99/month ($990/year) for up to $15,000, and Enterprise from $149/month ($1,490/year) for up to $30,000 on its entry tier, rising with usage.
  • Branding sits on Growth. Starter allows one campaign and two team members, without a branded portal, custom domain or private campaigns.
  • Fraud checks are referral-focused. Self-referral detection is listed; click-level checks such as datacenter-IP or velocity screening are not described.
  • SaaS commission shapes. Percentage or fixed, one-time or recurring commissions suit subscriptions; CPL, CPC or CPI deals are not listed.

The cheaper option depends on your affiliate revenue. Example (list prices, October 2026): at $5,000 of affiliate-attributed revenue a month, Rewardful Starter at $49 costs less than MassPartner Starter at $79. At $25,000 a month, Rewardful's entry Enterprise tier starts at $149, the same as MassPartner Professional, which stays flat as revenue grows provided traffic fits within 1M tracking requests. When to choose Rewardful

  • You run a SaaS product billed through Stripe and want commissions to follow invoices, refunds, upgrades and cancellations without writing code. MassPartner has no Stripe app.
  • Coupon codes or double-sided rewards are part of your referral offer.
  • Your affiliate revenue is still modest, so a $49 revenue-based plan is the cheapest way in.
  • You prefer a 14-day trial and PayPal or Wise bulk payouts from inside the tool.

When MassPartner fits better

  • Your billing isn't Stripe or Paddle Classic, or you sell more than subscriptions: leads, account sign-ups, deposits, app installs or one-off purchases.
  • You want a price that doesn't climb with affiliate revenue.
  • You pay CPA, CPL, RevShare or hybrid deals, with commission tiers by each affiliate's paying conversions in the month.
  • You need protection beyond self-referrals: every click is checked for datacenter IPs, velocity, headers, IP reputation and device fingerprints and summarized as a fraud score, with country and traffic-source rules per campaign.
  • You want affiliate agreements generated, e-signed and versioned in the same tool.

Recurring commissions work on MassPartner through recurring or lifetime payout models, but each renewal has to be reported from your backend. Plan to bring your own affiliates too: the marketplace is an extra discovery channel, not a replacement for recruiting. MassPartner for brands explains the setup.

Migration checklist: Rewardful to MassPartner

  1. Export from Rewardful. Affiliates, campaigns, referrals and commission history for your records. MassPartner has no bulk import of affiliates or history.
  2. Map campaigns. One-time commissions become a first-purchase payout model; recurring commissions with an end date become a recurring window; open-ended ones become lifetime.
  3. Replace tracking. Install the MassPartner JavaScript tracking script in place of Rewardful's script and store the MassPartner click ID on the customer record at sign-up.
  4. Report payments. From your billing webhook handler, send an S2S postback for each paid invoice and use the invoice ID as the order ID; duplicates with the same order ID are recorded once. Our S2S postback tracking page shows the flow.
  5. Cover refunds. Delay conversion approval by N days to match your refund window; see hold period.
  6. Move coupon partners to links. MassPartner doesn't track coupons.
  7. Test with the installation tester and test mode in the brand dashboard.
  8. Invite affiliates and settle legacy commissions. Send each affiliate new links and a cutover date, and decide whether recurring commissions on customers referred before the switch keep being paid from Rewardful until they end.
