To integrate Voluum with MassPartner, add MassPartner as an affiliate network in Voluum, append sub1={clickid} to your MassPartner tracking link in the Voluum offer, and create a MassPartner callback that calls your Voluum postback URL with cid={$sub1} and payout={$commission}. Every approved conversion then lands in Voluum on the original click, with your commission as revenue.
This guide is for media buyers who run paid traffic through Voluum and promote brands from MassPartner, which is free to join for affiliates. If server-to-server tracking is new to you, read what a postback URL is first. The same setup for other trackers is covered in RedTrack, Keitaro and Binom.
How the Voluum integration works
Voluum and MassPartner each issue their own click ID. Voluum's ID matters, because your costs live there. You pass it to MassPartner in the sub1 sub ID, MassPartner stores it with the click and the conversion, and the callback returns it with {$sub1}.
MassPartner's own click ID, {$clickid}, means nothing to Voluum. Never map it to cid.
Set up the Voluum integration in four steps
Step 1: Add MassPartner as an affiliate network in Voluum
- In Voluum, open the Affiliate networks tab, click Create, choose Affiliate network and start from Other affiliate network.
- Name it "MassPartner".
- In the Parameters section, set Click ID parameter to
sub1, Click ID placeholder to{$sub1}and Payout placeholder to{$commission}. Voluum uses the placeholders to build the postback URL. - Set Method to "S2S postback URL" and Currency to the currency your MassPartner commissions are paid in.
- Leave Accept duplicate postbacks off. You will send a unique transaction ID instead.
- Save, open the Tracking tab and copy the postback URL.
These fields are described in Voluum's guide to adding an affiliate network. The optional Append click ID to offer URLs toggle adds {clickid} automatically, but only if each offer URL ends with sub1=.
Step 2: Build the offer URL with Voluum's click ID in sub1
Create an offer in Voluum under the MassPartner network. Copy your tracking link from the MassPartner dashboard. It already contains a query string, so add the click ID with &:
YOUR_MASSPARTNER_TRACKING_LINK&sub1={clickid}
{clickid} is the Voluum tracking macro that passes its click ID to an affiliate network (Voluum S2S guide). MassPartner keeps sub values up to 255 characters and shows them in your click and conversion reports. Keep sub1 for the click ID on every offer and use sub2 to sub5 for your own labels, as explained in our guide to sub ID tracking.
Step 3: Create the MassPartner callback with your Voluum postback URL
In the MassPartner dashboard, open Callbacks, click Add callback, choose GET and paste the URL from Voluum's Tracking tab, completed like this:
https://your-voluum-domain.com/postback?cid={$sub1}&payout={$commission}¤cy={$currency}&txid={$conversionid}
Tick Conversion approved. cid is required. payout takes your commission, not {$saleamount}. currency overrides the offer's currency, and txid passes a unique transaction ID, which Voluum uses to record secondary conversions such as upsells (Voluum postback parameters). With {$conversionid} as txid, each recurring RevShare sale counts once. All placeholders are listed in the callback docs.
Voluum's postback has no status field. To see other stages, send a conversion type in et and define it under Settings > Custom conversions. Create one MassPartner callback per row:
| MassPartner event checkbox | Add to the postback URL | Voluum custom conversion |
|---|---|---|
| Conversion approved | Nothing | None, counted as a regular conversion |
| Conversion created | &et=pending |
"Pending", parameter value pending |
| Conversion rejected | &et=rejected |
"Rejected", parameter value rejected |
| Refund | &et=refunded |
"Refunded", parameter value refunded |
For each custom conversion, untick Include in "Revenue" column so only approved commissions count as revenue. Parameter values are case-sensitive, and you can define up to 20 custom conversions (Voluum custom conversions). Voluum's docs don't describe reversing an earlier conversion by postback, so a rejection or refund appears as its own conversion type next to the approved one, which is a useful signal for spotting a commission reversal early.
Step 4: Test with Send test and a real click
- Click Send test next to the callback. MassPartner sends sample values (
test_sub1as the sub ID, a 10.00 USD commission) and shows the delivery result, HTTP code and exact URL. Voluum can't credittest_sub1, but the result proves the URL is reachable and the placeholders are filled. - Open your Voluum campaign URL once. In MassPartner's click report, confirm the Voluum click ID sits in
sub1, untruncated. - Complete a real conversion, or ask the brand to approve a test one, and check that Voluum shows it with the right payout.

{$conversionid} |
txid |

{$orderid}, {$saleamount}, {$sub2} |

Troubleshooting
Check Voluum's Error log and the MassPartner callback list, which shows each callback's failures and last error.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Invalid conversion request" in Voluum | cid empty or wrong |
Check sub1={clickid} in the offer URL and cid={$sub1} in the callback |
| "Invalid postback request" | Callback uses a domain not added to Voluum | Copy the URL from the Tracking tab |
| "Postback IP is not whitelisted" | IP whitelist is on for the network | Turn it off or add the sender's IP |
| "Invalid currency in postback" | Unsupported currency code | Remove currency and rely on the network currency |
| Second sale on a click is missing | No unique txid |
Add txid={$conversionid} |
| Revenue higher than your earnings | {$saleamount} in payout |
Use {$commission} |
| Callback marked failed in MassPartner | Timeout after 5 seconds, HTTP 5xx, 408 or 429 | Retried after 5 minutes, 30 minutes and 2 hours. Other 4xx errors are not retried, so fix the URL |

FAQ
What is the Voluum postback URL for MassPartner?
It is the URL from the Tracking tab of your MassPartner affiliate network in Voluum, completed as https://your-voluum-domain.com/postback?cid={$sub1}&payout={$commission}¤cy={$currency}&txid={$conversionid}. Paste it into a MassPartner callback with the GET method.
Which MassPartner placeholder carries the Voluum click ID?
{$sub1}, because you pass Voluum's {clickid} in sub1 of your tracking link. {$clickid} is MassPartner's own ID and won't match any Voluum visit.
Can Voluum show rejected or refunded MassPartner conversions?
Yes, as custom conversions. Send et=rejected or et=refunded from callbacks subscribed to those events, and keep them out of the Revenue column in the custom conversion settings.
Why does Voluum ignore a second conversion from the same click?
Voluum rejects a postback for a click ID that already converted unless it carries a unique txid or a different conversion type. Add txid={$conversionid} to the callback.
Does the integration cost anything on the MassPartner side?
No. MassPartner is free for affiliates and callbacks are included. You need your own Voluum account.
