Payment affiliate programs pay publishers for referring new customers to e-wallets, money-transfer services, payment processors and neobanks. Most pay either a fixed CPA once the referred customer verifies and makes a real transaction, or a revenue share on the fees that customer generates. As of October 2026, Skrill and Neteller pay a lifetime revenue share, while Wise and Revolut pay per active customer.

Everything below comes from each provider's own public terms. These are independent third-party programs: you apply directly, and each provider approves and pays you. To compare them with other brand programs, the MassPartner affiliate marketplace lists programs you can apply to with a single free account.

How fintech and payment affiliate programs pay

Fintech programs use the same two payout models as other verticals, but the qualifying event is stricter. A sign-up rarely counts; the customer usually has to open a real account and move money first.

CPA per verified, funded or active account

A CPA deal pays a fixed amount per qualifying customer. In fintech, "qualifying" is defined by a transaction, not a registration:

  • Wise: the Wise affiliate onboarding guide says the referred customer must be new to Wise and complete a cross-currency transaction of any amount. Account registrations alone are listed as non-commissionable.
  • Revolut: the Revolut affiliate onboarding guide pays per "New Active Person." That means at least one outbound transaction such as a card payment, ATM withdrawal, transfer or exchange. A top-up does not count.

CPA gives you predictable cash flow and moves the retention risk onto the brand. The trade-off is that the brand may tighten the definition of "active" or cut your rate if your customers churn after the first transaction.

RevShare on fees

A revenue share deal pays a percentage of the fees the provider earns from your referrals, usually every month for as long as the account generates revenue. As of October 2026, Paysafe pays 20% of fee revenue for life, and OFX pays a percentage of gross revenue for 24 months per customer.

Model Typical qualifying event When you get paid Who carries churn risk
CPA per active account Verified account plus first real transaction Once, after validation Brand
RevShare on fees Fees earned on referred accounts Monthly, while the customer transacts Affiliate
Hybrid (CPA + RevShare) Both of the above Upfront plus a monthly tail Shared

Example (invented numbers): a CPA program pays $40 per active customer, and a RevShare program pays 20% of fees. If a referred user generates $10 a month in fees, the RevShare pays $2 a month, or $24 in year one. It only beats the CPA if that user stays active for more than 20 months. Run this math with your own retention data before you pick a deal.

E-wallets: Skrill and Neteller (Paysafe)

Skrill and Neteller are both run by Paysafe and share a single program, Paysafe Affiliates, which also covers paysafecard. According to the Paysafe Affiliates site, as of October 2026 affiliates earn "a lifetime 20% revenue share." Skrill runs a separate program exclusively for US residents.

How the Paysafe commission is calculated

The Paysafe Affiliates Programme terms define the commission precisely:

  • 20% of Fee Revenue from referred accounts. Fee Revenue is the net transaction fee Paysafe charges a merchant when your referred customer pays that merchant. It excludes items such as FX fees, rebates and chargeback costs.
  • 10% of sub-affiliate commission for affiliates you recruit through a designated sub-affiliate link.
  • New customers only. The customer must not already hold a Skrill or Neteller account. Your own accounts and relatives' accounts are excluded.
  • Cookie duration of up to 30 days. A registration after the cookie expires is not attributed to you.
  • Payment within 30 days of the end of each calendar month, into a Skrill or Neteller account in your own name. Amounts under US$5 roll over.
  • Inactivity clause. Paysafe may terminate if your account produces no commissionable transactions for three months. After a termination for breach or inactivity, commissions on all your referred customers stop.

The practical point: you earn only when referred users pay Paysafe merchants, and the Paysafe Affiliates site names gambling, iGaming, forex, e-sports and crypto as relevant industries. If you promote e-wallets as a casino or betting deposit method, follow local gambling advertising rules, target adults only and include responsible-gambling messaging.

Money transfer: Wise, OFX and others

Money-transfer programs value customers who send money abroad repeatedly. They differ more in payout structure than in traffic rules.

Wise

The Wise affiliate program page offers website, influencer and business partnerships. It says business user referrals earn a higher commission rate, and partners who can drive more than 50 new paying customers a month should contact the partnerships team directly. As of October 2026, the page does not publish commission amounts.

The Wise onboarding guide (first published in 2021) gives more detail. Tracking and payouts run through Partnerize. CPA rates "start at £10 for personal users and at £50 for business customers," the cookie window is one year, and commissions are approved monthly. Because the guide is several years old, confirm current rates in your dashboard before you build a forecast.

Wise's restrictions are strict. Its partner guidelines say the program "does not allow any type of paid advertising," including paid search on generic or brand terms, unless Wise gives explicit prior written consent. Partners may not own domains containing "Wise," must send readers to their own site first, and cannot advertise free transfer coupons. The onboarding guide also lists sub-affiliate networks and coupon or voucher code sites as exceptions to who Wise works with.

OFX

OFX publishes country-specific affiliate terms. The OFX UK affiliate program terms set out a revenue-share model:

  • The referral fee is a percentage of the gross revenue OFX earns on each qualifying transfer. The percentage appears on the cover page of your individual agreement, not in the public terms.
  • Fees are paid for 24 months from the customer's first qualifying transaction.
  • Cookies last 30 days from the last visit via your link, and the most recent cookie wins.
  • Cancelled or refunded transactions do not qualify.
  • Fees are paid within 10 business days after the end of the following month, once you reach a GBP 300 threshold. Smaller balances roll over.
  • Partners may not bid on protected keywords such as "OFX," need written consent for advertising, and may not use OFX branding in paid social ads.

Terms differ by region, so read the version for the country where you are contracting.

Other remittance providers

For any other remittance or FX brand, check the same five points: qualifying event, revenue-share duration, cookie window, payment threshold and keyword policy. If a provider will not show you written terms before you send traffic, treat that as a warning sign.

Payment processors, merchant accounts and neobank referral programs

Payment processors and merchant accounts

Processor programs are B2B. You refer merchants rather than consumers, sales cycles are longer, and earnings are tied to the merchant's processing activity.

Helcim is one example. Its partnerships page offers referral partnerships for affiliates, associations, credit unions and franchises. Referral partners "earn revenue on every merchant you refer who starts processing," and software partners can join an integration program. As of October 2026, Helcim does not publish rates on the page, so ask for the full agreement before you commit content to it.

When you evaluate any processor deal, ask four questions:

  1. Is it a one-time bounty or ongoing revenue on processing volume?
  2. What counts as "starts processing": approval, first transaction or a minimum volume?
  3. Does your share stop if the merchant moves to a different pricing plan?
  4. What happens to your revenue if the program terminates you?

Neobanks

Neobank affiliate programs pay per active customer and enforce brand rules closely. Revolut's onboarding guide explains that it runs separate Retail and Business programs. Business affiliates must show a business-specific audience, and commission details are shared when you sign up.

Revolut says it optimizes campaigns "via CPA increases" for profitable affiliates rather than paying fixed or onboarding fees. Bidding on Revolut terms, including misspellings, is banned and can lead to commission reversal or termination.

Do not confuse customer refer-a-friend schemes with affiliate programs. Refer-a-friend rewards are built for existing customers sharing a link with people they know; commercial publishers should use the affiliate program and its terms.

Allowed and prohibited traffic

Fintech programs restrict traffic tightly because a misleading ad creates regulatory risk for the brand, not just wasted budget. Here is how the public terms compare as of October 2026:

Program Brand-term PPC Incentives to users Other notable rules
Paysafe (Skrill, Neteller) Banned, including misspellings Banned: no cash, cashback or other compensation Bulk email needs prior written consent; no promotion where Paysafe is restricted
Wise No paid ads at all without written consent No free transfer coupons; coupon sites excluded No "Wise" domains; readers must land on your site first
OFX Banned (protected keywords) Check your agreement Written consent for advertising; no OFX branding in paid social ads
Revolut Banned, including misspellings Use the brand's embedded offer only Revolut-provided creatives only; Business program needs a business audience

Brand bidding

Brand bidding is one of the fastest ways for fintech affiliates to lose commissions. All four consumer programs above ban it in some form, and Wise goes further by banning paid advertising entirely unless you get written consent. The penalties in these terms range from commission reversal to paused payouts and removal from the program.

Incentivized traffic

Incentivized traffic means rewarding users for signing up. Paysafe's terms prohibit affiliates from paying or promising "monies, cashback or any other financial compensation" to potential customers. Revolut takes a different approach. Its incentive, a Premium trial, is built into the affiliate landing page, so affiliates should not invent their own.

Restricted geos

Payment products are licensed country by country. Paysafe's terms forbid promotion where Paysafe is prohibited or restricted from offering its services, and US residents must use the separate Skrill USA program. Check each program's country list before you localize content; financial-promotion rules are covered in the next section.

Compliance and disclosures

Fintech affiliates answer to two sets of rules: the brand's contract and the advertising law where the audience lives.

Disclose the commission

In the US, the FTC's Endorsement Guides FAQ says disclosures must be clear and conspicuous and placed close to the recommendation. It suggests wording such as "I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post." It also says a label like "affiliate link" on its own is not adequate. The same FAQ expects advertisers to have "reasonable programs in place to train and monitor members of their network," so expect brands to review your pages.

Know when a post becomes a financial promotion

In the UK, the FCA's guidance on financial promotions on social media (FG24/1, March 2024) covers "influencers or other affiliate marketers." It warns that unauthorized persons promoting regulated products without approval from an FCA-authorized firm "may be committing a criminal offence." Many fintech apps bundle regulated products such as savings, credit, investments or crypto alongside payments, so check which products a creative mentions. Get legal advice if you are unsure whether it counts as a financial promotion.

Practical compliance checklist

  • Use only brand-approved claims, logos and assets. Revolut's guide says unauthorized alterations violate its terms, and Wise lists approved marketing claims in its partner guidelines.
  • Never describe an e-money account as a bank account or imply deposit protection the product does not have.
  • Show fees and exchange rates as "from" values with a date, and link to the provider's live pricing.
  • Keep written approvals for any paid campaign, and archive the version of the terms you agreed to.
  • Read your contract's prohibited-activities list before launch. Our affiliate agreement template explains the clauses brands typically use.

Payout method matters too. Paysafe pays commission only into a Skrill or Neteller account in your own name, and Wise's onboarding guide says payouts come through Partnerize. If you prefer other payout rails, see our guide to affiliate programs that pay in crypto.

Find or run fintech affiliate programs

Affiliates can join MassPartner for free, browse brand programs in one marketplace, and track clicks and conversions with sub-IDs and postbacks. Start on the MassPartner for affiliates page. Fintech brands that want to run their own program, with country targeting, S2S postbacks, fraud scoring and contracts with prohibited-actions clauses, can see how it works on the MassPartner for brands page.

FAQ

Do Skrill and Neteller have separate affiliate programs?

No. Both run under Paysafe Affiliates with shared terms, and as of October 2026 they pay a lifetime 20% revenue share on fee revenue from referred accounts. US residents use a separate Skrill USA program.

Does the Wise affiliate program pay per sign-up?

No. Wise's onboarding guide says registrations alone are non-commissionable. The referred customer must complete a cross-currency transaction, and the guide quotes CPA rates starting at £10 for personal and £50 for business customers, so confirm current rates in your dashboard.

Can I bid on brand keywords for payment affiliate programs?

Generally no. Paysafe, OFX and Revolut ban bidding on their brand terms, and Wise bans all paid advertising without written consent. Violations typically lead to commission reversal or removal from the program.

Is CPA or RevShare better for fintech affiliates?

It depends on how long your referred customers stay active. CPA pays once and protects you from churn. RevShare can pay more over time when customers transact for years, but results vary and no program guarantees earnings.

Do UK affiliates need approval to promote fintech products?

Only if your content counts as a financial promotion under UK rules, which depends on the product. The FCA warns that affiliate marketers who promote regulated products without approval from an authorized firm may be committing a criminal offence, so get legal advice before promoting savings, credit, investment or crypto products.
