Affiliate programs that pay in crypto include Changelly (USDT), NOWPayments and ChangeNOW (multiple coins), Trezor (BTC), TorGuard (Bitcoin), ZoogVPN (six coins incl. If you are new to working with brand programs, our overview for affiliates explains tracking links, postbacks and payout options on MassPartner. The list itself is program-neutral.
Why affiliates want crypto payouts
Cross-border speed. International wires can pass through intermediary banks and only move on business days. A crypto transfer settles once it is confirmed on-chain, including weekends, which matters when you fund traffic daily.
Fees. Crypto avoids intermediary bank charges and some FX markups. It is not free: you still pay network fees, and converting to fiat adds exchange fees or spreads.
Banking access. Affiliates in countries with limited PayPal or Payoneer support, and publishers in verticals that banks treat as high-risk, often find crypto the most reliable way to get paid.
The trade-offs. BTC and other volatile coins can lose value between payout and conversion; stablecoins like USDT and USDC reduce that risk. Transfers are irreversible, so a wrong address or network is usually a permanent loss. You also take on more recordkeeping for taxes.
Payout frequency matters as much as the payout method. If cash flow is your main concern, see our list of affiliate programs that pay weekly.

Networks and fees: TRC-20 vs ERC-20 vs BTC
USDT is one token issued on many blockchains. Tether's supported protocols page lists Ethereum (ERC20), Tron (TRC20), Solana, TON and others. The network you choose changes the address format, the fee and the confirmation time, so the program and your wallet must support the same network.
| Network | Typical payout asset | Fee paid in | What drives the cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum (ERC-20) | USDT, USDC, DAI | ETH (gas) | Network demand; fees rise when blocks are busy |
| Tron (TRC-20) | USDT | Energy and bandwidth, or burned TRX | Whether the sender has staked resources |
| Bitcoin | BTC | BTC | Transaction size and demand for block space |
ERC-20. According to ethereum.org, gas fees must be paid in ETH, and when demand is high, users have to offer higher tips to get included. Fees on Ethereum mainnet vary with network congestion.
TRC-20. TRON's resource model meters transactions in bandwidth and energy. Smart contract calls, which include TRC-20 token transfers, also consume energy, and when the sender's staked resources and free quota don't cover the cost, the network burns TRX from the sender's balance.
BTC. The Bitcoin developer guide explains that fees depend on the transaction's byte size and that miners prioritize by fee per byte, with fees rising as demand for block space increases.
In practice, ask each program which networks it supports, whether it deducts the network fee from your payout, and whether there is a separate minimum per network. Those three answers matter more than the headline commission when payouts are small.
Tax and compliance notes
This section is general information, not tax or legal advice. Rules differ by country, so talk to a qualified tax professional.
- US affiliates: The IRS digital assets page states that income from digital assets is taxable, including digital assets received as payment for services. Independent contractors report that income on Schedule C, and you must report digital asset transactions whether or not they produce a gain or loss.
- Record every payout. Keep the date, amount, asset, network, transaction hash and the fiat value when received. Converting or spending the crypto later can be a separate taxable event.
- Expect identity checks. Exchanges and many programs require KYC or tax forms before paying, and some exchange programs are not available in every country.
- Check promotion rules. Crypto and gambling advertising is restricted in several jurisdictions. Make sure you can legally promote an offer to your traffic's countries before you run it.
Safety checklist for crypto payouts
- Enter payout details only in the official dashboard. Never update your wallet address because of an email, Telegram message or "affiliate manager" DM you did not initiate.
- Verify the address character by character. Clipboard malware can swap a copied address. Check at least the first and last six characters after pasting.
- Match the network. A TRC-20 USDT address is not an ERC-20 address. Confirm the network the program sends on before your first payout.
- Test small first. If possible, take a small first payout and confirm it arrives before letting a large balance build.
- Lock down the account. Use two-factor authentication on the affiliate dashboard and your exchange, and enable withdrawal-address whitelisting where available.
- Never share a seed phrase or private key. No legitimate affiliate program needs it to pay you.
- Treat "release fees" as a scam. A program that asks you to send crypto to unlock your earnings is not paying you.
- Keep transaction hashes. They are your proof of payment for reconciliation and taxes.

FAQ
Which affiliate programs pay in USDT?
As of October 2026, Changelly states it pays affiliates in USDT, and NOWPayments sets its minimum at 50 USDT. Kraken pays its in-house creators in USDC, another dollar stablecoin.
Is TRC-20 or ERC-20 better for receiving USDT?
Neither is universally better. ERC-20 fees are paid in ETH and rise with Ethereum congestion, while TRC-20 costs depend on the sender's energy and bandwidth. What matters most is that the program and your wallet use the same network.
Do I pay tax on crypto affiliate commissions?
In the US, the IRS treats digital assets received for services as taxable income, reported on Schedule C for independent contractors. Other countries have their own rules, so check with a local tax professional.
Can I lose a crypto payout?
Yes. Crypto transfers are irreversible, so sending to a wrong address or an unsupported network can mean permanent loss. Verify the address and network before each payout and test with a small amount first.
Are crypto exchange affiliate programs available everywhere?
No. Exchanges restrict both users and affiliates in some jurisdictions, and Kraken notes that geographic restrictions may apply. Check eligibility and local promotion rules before you apply.
